Stella came about on one of those days where magic just happens.
Forte Stella in Monte Argentario – as its function would suggest – can be found at the top of a hill.
I had noted for the first time in a while the sky was dappled grey, and if you looked up into the clouds you could see traces of a crescent moon hiding from the day. And it was in that moment I walked through the gate that I felt it. I walked through the rooms, the ruins, the stories, and the growing feeling of what had come before kept pressing itself to be heard in the future. I took more photos in that three hour block than I had at any other place we’d visited.
Stella is the shape of the fortress built to protect the families of its time.
