Cordelia Earrings

Cordelia, conceivably one of William Shakespeare’s strongest female characters is celebrated for her authenticity. Unlike the disingenuous flattery her sisters bestowed on her father, her refusal to adhere to the traditional accordances of familial bonds, saw King Lear’s youngest daughter in constant disfavour. Though something of a cautionary tale, Cordelia’s character symbolises loyalty, integrity, and the value of remaining true to one’s convictions in the face of adversity.
